Minimalism

It’s absolutely true when they say that less is more. This summer, you can spot the simple but elegant creations on the catwalk. Calvin Klein, Hermes, Valentino and many more have already made this trend their own.

One of the best things about this, is defenitely that you don’t have to bother with lots necklaces, bracelets or rings. A simple clutch and a nice pair of shoes and you’re ready to go!

Harem pants

They were a big trend a few years ago and it seems like the harem pants are making a comeback. I bought one myself yesterday and it’s certainly something I should have done a long time ago.

The black and white harem pants match great with colourful tops, while the ones with patterns look best with plain tops. They not only look fun to wear, they actually are.

The material is really comfortable and you don’t have that restricting feeling you sometimes get when you wear jeans, so basically, it feels like you’re wearing pajama pants. I’m going back to the shop today to buy myself a few more.

Metallic

A trend which really stands out this spring, is without a doubt to wear things with a metallic shine. You can keep it subtle with a metallic nail polish or accessories, or be a little bolder with a pair of metallic pants.

Day of shopping

I’m feeling a little better and what better way to celebrate, than with a day of shopping? I didn’t go too crazy this time, but I bought a top and a jumper which I really like. I also ate the most delicious  italian ham and pesto sandwich EVER, but that’s not the point of this post.

I am now the happy owner of the jumper on the right. It was available in various colours, but I liked the soft green one the most. I’m quite pale, so really bright tops -with a few exceptions- aren’t the best choice for me.

I’ve also noticed t-shirts and tops with band names have become popular again. I think they’re a great way of combining your favourite music with fashion, while showing other people what kind of music you like.

Comfortable clothes

I usually get a cold during vacations, which, although it really irritates me, I can easily live with. This time though, many people have the stomach flu and I think I might have caught it too.

I’m not extremely sick but I don’t feel very good either, which means that until I’m better, I’ll be spending my days in front of my laptop or tv, wrapped in a warm and fluffy blanket.

I probably won’t be putting much thought into my clothes, because when I’m sick, I like to wear either my pajamas or something that’s equally comfortable, like my hoodie and sweatpants. I hope you’re feeling better than I am!

Noticing the details

Whether it’s about fashion, make-up or just in general, I’ve found the smaller things to be the most beautiful. For example, I just love how a simple belt can change an entire outfit, or how a little jewelry can make you stand out. That’s why I always pay attention to the details, because the littlest things can make the biggest difference.

Pastel and neon

A great trend to try out this spring is wearing soft pastels. If you don’t particularly like light colours, you can try combining them with brighter neon ones. Just experiment with different accessories and clothes, until you find something you like. Personally, I like to wear a pastel coloured dress or top, combined with neon accessories. That way, my outfit stands out, without being too bright.

Little black dress

An absolute classic and also one of my favourites is without a doubt the little black dress. It can be worn on any occasion and it’s a great base, which you can combine with all sorts of accesories, shoes and jackets. If you haven’t got an LBD in your closet, you should really invest in one. It will certainly be worth the money.
