Minimalism

It’s absolutely true when they say that less is more. This summer, you can spot the simple but elegant creations on the catwalk. Calvin Klein, Hermes, Valentino and many more have already made this trend their own.

One of the best things about this, is defenitely that you don’t have to bother with lots necklaces, bracelets or rings. A simple clutch and a nice pair of shoes and you’re ready to go!

Harem pants

They were a big trend a few years ago and it seems like the harem pants are making a comeback. I bought one myself yesterday and it’s certainly something I should have done a long time ago.

The black and white harem pants match great with colourful tops, while the ones with patterns look best with plain tops. They not only look fun to wear, they actually are.

The material is really comfortable and you don’t have that restricting feeling you sometimes get when you wear jeans, so basically, it feels like you’re wearing pajama pants. I’m going back to the shop today to buy myself a few more.

Statement sunglasses

Although the sun hasn’t showed itself much yet, the big statement sunglasses are definitely making a comeback . While the brightly coloured ones are my favourite, I also love the softer pastels. It doesn’t end there though, crazy designs, prints, everything you can think of. I already have two pairs of sunglasses, but I’m considering getting myself a pair with cute little flowers, like the one below.

Dip dye or copper highlights

I might get a dip dye. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time, but I couldn’t decide on a colour. I have brown hair, so I’ll either get one or two shades lighter, or a bright blue. Lots of people are jumping on the dip dye train right now and it’s a trend I’m definitely a fan of.

You can keep it as subtle as you want, but you can also pick an unusual colour like blue, green,… Just remember that even though you like a colour, there’s a possibility it won’t look as good when you use it as your haircolour.

On the other hand, I’m also considering getting copper coloured highlights. I think they’ll look good on my brown hair and bring out the slightly copper undertones I’ve inherited from my dad.

Metallic

A trend which really stands out this spring, is without a doubt to wear things with a metallic shine. You can keep it subtle with a metallic nail polish or accessories, or be a little bolder with a pair of metallic pants.

Coloured eyeliner

I once said a little bit of eyeliner can make a big difference and I still believe it does. That’s why I’m posting about coloured eyeliners this time. You can combine them with eyeshadow, but when doing that, it’s best to stick to a nude lipstick or gloss. Another option is to use a black eyeliner first and then applying a thin line of coloured liner above it.

Stripes

Stripes are definitely back this season, horizontal as well as vertical ones. Just keep in mind, horizontal stripes might make your waist look a little wider. Matching your shoes with your clothes makes your outfit extra fun and interesting, but don’t go overboard and keep your accessories simple. The stripes are meant to be the eyecatcher after all.
